The Medical Examiner or Coroner provides the cause of death to the Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths.  This is required before you can register the death.

You must then register the death within 5 days unless an inquest is required.  For more detailed information see the FAQs.

We will then meet with you at a venue of your choice, to discuss your wishes for the funeral which will include such things as who will conduct the service, transportation, music, flowers and orders of service.

You may wish to prepare a notice to inform family, friends, and the community about the death and funeral arrangements.  This is usually done via the local newspaper or via our Facebook page.

You may wish to have a gathering at a venue of your choice and we are more than happy to make the appropriate arrangements for you.

Ashes

Ashes

Providing there are no legal requirements, once the ashes have been hand delivered to you, these can be:

  • Scattered in a special place of your own choice

  • Buried in a grave, allowing there to be a headstone
  • Scattered in the garden of remembrance at the crematorium

  • Kept at home in a special urn or memorial
